Formerly known as Sparks on the Ave, our journey began in August 2023 with a mission to create plant-based, non-toxic, and handcrafted candles that elevate your space—one whiff at a time. In 2025, we rebranded to Candle Coded Luxe to better reflect our luxury vision, growth, and commitment to high-quality, conscious living.
Our founder and CEO, Diedra "Mocha" Barnes, has been a fragrance lover for over 20 years. Known for her talent in scent pairing and her signature ability to match people with fragrances that complement their unique essence, Mocha’s passion for fragrance naturally evolved into a love for creating spaces that feel as good as they smell.
It wasn’t just about making candles—it was about crafting an experience. After noticing big brands cutting corners with toxic ingredients and inflated prices, Mocha decided it was time to do things differently. In 2019, the idea was born. By 2021, she was fully immersed in studying the science and artistry behind clean candle-making—experimenting with fragrance oils, essential oils, vegan waxes, and vessels that reflect her luxury aesthetic.
After officially launching in 2023, support came pouring in. But everything shifted in February 2024 when her Valentine’s Day Collection went viral, thanks to her TikTok family and loyal supporters. That momentum carried into the Sunkissed Scentsations Collection in March, where upgraded packaging, vessels, and formulas truly set the brand apart.
Now in 2025, we continue to deliver the same signature formulas you love—just with an elevated look, a refined name, and an even deeper commitment to the glow-up of your space and spirit.
